Personally I think this is one of my best pieces of advice.
But seriously. I just had a conversation with a client about her biggest struggle and she said “Chocolate, once I have it – I always overdo it.”
This all or nothing mindset is NOT HEALTHY.
The fact that you feel like you “shouldn’t” be eating something, not only starts a vicious cycle of guilt for no reason – but it also puts the thought of “I better eat what I can now because I can’t have it tomorrow.”
But if you CAN have it every day, eventually that disappears. So if you find yourself in this cycle my advice to you is:
Eat [insert ‘indulgent’ food here] every day. Have one serving, and eat normally the rest of your day. Slowly, that restriction mindset will change and you can rest easy knowing it will be there tomorrow. You MIGHT even get sick of it.
