How to differentiate between lack of effort and truly needing to rest.
You should REST if:
✅You’ve worked out (6-9 RPE) more than 6 consecutive days
✅You’ve slept less than 10 hrs in the last 2 days
✅You’ve eaten less than 75% of your daily required calories for 2 or more days
✅If your overall stress level has been more than a 7/10 for 5+ days or you’ve experienced something traumatic.
Pretty much anything outside of those circumstances probably don’t necessarily REQUIRE a rest day – but I encourage you to really check in with yourself and ask why you might be trying to flake out.
Maybe you need to try something new, get a new program or workout with a buddy!
