Are you worried what your coach is going to say when you miss a workout or blow your macros at the Cheesecake Factory?
If you have a coach that expects perfection and acts like this with anything less, it’s time to get you a new coach.
I know that thinking you won’t be able to “be all in” is a hesitation point for people and coaching, but that’s NOT THE POINT.
Let’s be realistic. I’m not perfect, and I absolutely don’t expect my clients to be.
In general, I usually expect about a 75 to 80% adherence rate.
Anything less than that, means that I have not successfully tailored the plan to fit you.
When creating a plan and setting goals, I ask clients what feels realistic to them in this moment.
If they can’t reach the goals we have set, we need to figure out why and potentially set some different goals.
If You’re not working out at all, and you expect to jump in at five days a week and not have any missed – I would consider that shooting for the stars and you should be stoked if you hit two or three – or land on the moon.
We are humans, and the number of variables that can affect our adherence to any specific plan is innumerable.
The important part is that you keep showing up to try again and do better than the day before.
We want progress,
Not perfection.
